This is a look at agricultural inventions over the years and their impact on food production, especially in the United States and Canada. The contributions of Gregor Mendel, Margaret Newton, Eli Whitney, George Washington Carver are included. The book also presents information on the topics of preserving foods, pesticides, and genetically modified (GM) practices. 

Note that this is an older book and some of the technology is outdated. It would be better with more historical context. Also note that this author is from Canada.
