Why I Use Food and Farm Facts

Food and Farm Facts is an extremely crucial piece of information to share with children and adults in regards to educating and reconnecting people with how food is made, where it comes from, and what it takes to get it from the farm to the plate. There is a huge disconnection with consumers about agriculture and food production.  Many people don't even relate the two. 

This magazine lines it out perfectly for people of all ages and it relates it to our everyday lives; right down to what a farmer has to do to make pizza toppings!  I am the founder of a non-profit organization called Perfect Balance USA.  Through our non-profit, we offer Farm/Ranch field trips to kids and adults to give hands-on experiences and teach about food production and environmentally friendly agriculture.

I purchased my first round of Food and Farm Facts to try out on 150 students of the 8th grade. Almost half of them wrote us thank you cards and mentioned how much they liked Food and Farm Facts. That's when I knew I needed to be handing those out at every field trip we host. 

Food and Farm Facts is a vital resource of information that we get the privilege of handing out at the end of each one of our events to wrap up and reiterate the world of Agriculture!

JoHanna Symons, co-owner of Symons Livestock LLC Feedlot and Symons Beef Company, and Founder of Perfect Balance USA non-profit.  Together, Jeremy and JoHanna Symons own a commercial cattle feeding facility, 750 head cow/calf operation and 1100 acres of farmland in Central Oregon.  They also supply home grown, fresh and frozen beef to consumers and restaurants through Symons Beef Company
